WALPURGIS RITES - HEXENWAHN by BELPHEGOR

Supreme Death / Black Metal art - that is the moniker BELPHEGOR have been sailing under since 1993! Now, they are back with their eigth studio album – "Walpurgis rites – Hexenwahn", a brutal yet technically filigree opus with an overall Sabbathian witch and black magick / occult theme! The now legendary demo "Bloodbath in paradise" marked BELPHEGOR`s entry to the musical world of all things dark and extreme. Their trademark blasting highspeed attacks could also be found on their debut album "The last supper" in 1995, full of anti-religious and anti-life hymns. The follow-up in 1997, "Blutsabbath" gained them an even bigger fanbase and a notorious reputation. "Necrodeamon Terrorsathan", a blackened masterpiece, was released in 2000. In 2002 it was time for their 10th anniversary: the live album "Infernal live orgasm" was released on the band`s own label, Phallelujah Productions. With 2003`s effort "Lucifer incestus", BELPHEGOR had definitely left the so-called underground for good: especially the catchy title track remains a fan favourite to this very day, and the crisp and clear production got the Austrians to a whole new level! "Goatreich – Fleshcult" was accompanied by a huge European headliner tour, the "X-Mass Festivals" in 2005. "Pestapokalypse VI" was BELPHEGOR`s first record for Nuclear Blast in 2006, and Helmuth and co. outdid themselves with a multilingual approach to lyrics to hymns such as 'Bluhtsturm Erotika'. Their combination of perverse eroticism, Satanism, midtempo riff madness and unrelenting highspeed Death/Black attacks turned them into a supremely unique act! This found its continuation in "Bondage goat zombie", released 2008.
